A big idea, a community coming together, and a brand-new place for kids to play. That's what happens when people work together to make a difference!
What started as an idea in the spring of 2025 has officially become a reality at Immanuel Lutheran School in Marshfield! After months of planning, fundraising, and hard work, the school's brand-new playground is ready for students to enjoy and our team here at Simplicity CU was proud to be present our $1,000 donation and help make it happen.
A Big Idea Becomes a Community Project
Thanks to the hard work of Immanuel Lutheran's Playground Committee and the generosity of community supporters, more than $300,000 was raised to make the project possible. Simplicity CU was proud to be among those contributing to this exciting investment
On October 28th, the community gathered at Immanuel Lutheran School for a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MACCI). The celebration included remarks from Pastor Chris, Principal Jill Helgerson, and others who played an important role in bringing the project to life.
It was a chance to recognize the people behind the project, celebrate what the community accomplished together, and officially welcome this new space for students to learn, play, and grow.
Investing in Our Community's Future
“Our former playground had been here since 2009, and over time, more and more things were falling apart and needing repairs. We wanted to create a space that was not only safer, but also more appealing to our students, and people in our community saw our vision and stepped forward to make it a reality,” said Jill Helgerson, Principal at Immanuel Lutheran.
“We know this playground will bring a million smiles to the students who attend here, and I feel so blessed to have been a part of this process!”
We at Simplicity CU are grateful for the opportunity to support the organizations doing great work in our communities, and we're always excited to see what can happen when local partners share a vision and work together to bring it to life!
“One of the best parts of being involved in our community is seeing what happens when people come together to make something special possible. Immanuel Lutheran's new playground is a great example of that, and we're honored to have played a part in bringing this vision to life. We're so excited to see the smiles, friendships, and memories that will come from this space for years to come,” said CEO of Simplicity CU, Nick Faber.
A Little Community Support Goes a Long Way
A huge congratulations to Immanuel Lutheran School's Playground Committee, school staff, community supporters, and everyone who helped turn this idea into something students can enjoy every day!
At Simplicity CU, we're proud to be part of a community that shows up, works together, and makes good things happen.
That's what people helping people is all about!
