August 31st, 2026, Marshfield, Wisconsin – Simplicity Credit Union celebrated the success of its fifth annual Serving for Pat fundraiser on August 15th, raising funds in support of Sleep in Heavenly Peace! The funds raised will help provide safe, comfortable beds to children in need throughout the Central Wisconsin.
“We’re incredibly proud to support Sleep in Heavenly Peace through this year’s Serving for Pat event,” said Angela Heiden, Mortgage Sales Manager at Simplicity CU. “Pat Wesenberg always believed in serving others, and this event is a wonderful way to continue her legacy while making a meaningful difference for local children and families!”
This year’s event was held at Sceeter & Otis' Village Inn in Hewitt, WI. Community members gathered for a day of friendly competition, featuring co-ed volleyball and baggo tournaments, along with Bingo, raffle baskets, a 50/50 raffle, food, drinks, and plenty of opportunities to have fun while supporting a great cause.
A total of 11 volleyball teams and 9 baggo teams participated in this year’s event, while more than 100 attendees joined in the festivities. Participants competed for top prizes of $300 for first-place volleyball, $150 for second place, $100 for third place, and $60 for fourth place. Baggo teams competed for prizes of $120 and $50 for first and second place, respectively.
“We’re so grateful to everyone who participated, volunteered, donated, sponsored, and supported Serving for Pat this year,” said Ben Bauer, VP of Marketing at Simplicity CU, “This event continues to be a special way for our community to come together, have some fun, and honor Pat’s legacy through service to others.”
The funds raised through Serving for Pat will support Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring children have a safe and comfortable place to sleep. The organization provides beds at no cost to children ages 3–17 who are sleeping on floors, couches, air mattresses, or sharing a bed with parents or siblings. We are incredibly proud to support their local Spencer and Stevens Point chapters through our event!
