Welcome to Our Mortgage Team's New Home!

Maybe this sounds familiar: You find a space to call your own and it’s perfect. Settle in, make it cozy, fill it with your coolest stuff, add a fresh coat of paint, and VOILA you’re home.

Life. Is. Good.

Then, almost before you realize it, your space starts to shrink because your family starts to grow.

We know EXACTLY how you feel.

Our Marshfield Mortgage Center team was in that same place just last year. They worked so hard to help as many people as possible in the Marshfield area buy (or refinance) their own happy homes that we needed to add more smiling faces to the team to keep up. Eventually the space they loved across the way from our main office in Marshfield wasn’t big enough for the growing family.

At the same time, some of our teams in the back office were growing too (You know, the people you can’t see but who do things that make things work and you’re just glad they do?). In fact, we doubled or tripled some of those teams over the course of just a few years.

So, we did what most people do, we went house shopping. We didn’t know what to expect but, man, we were lucky!

Just as we realized it was time to make a move, the owners of the Thomas House building and Restaurant at 103 S. Central Ave. in Marshfield were deciding to sell. Just like the empty nesters in your neighborhood, they were ready to move on and let a growing family start making memories in a new home.

The Thomas House has a long and colorful history here in Marshfield. Built by Joseph Thomas in 1887 for a total cost of $7000, The Thomas House hotel was the first three story brick building in the city. Rooms rented for $1.50 per day and, according to the Marshfield Times, “The bar of the house is always stocked with the best goods, the table with the very best eatables and the house ranks among the finest in the city...”

In the 131 years that the Thomas House building has been here, it’s served Marshfield as a boarding house, grand hotel, and warehouse. It has been home to businesses ranging from a flower shop, to a salon, to law offices, and many, many, many more.

And now it’s time for the Simplicity CU team to call the Thomas House home.

We’re thrilled to announce that on March 22nd, 2018, the Simplicity CU Marshfield Mortgage Team opened their doors to serve our area from the first floor of the Thomas House building.

Our preservation and renovation of the historic building includes our Marshfield Mortgage Center, a community room opening onto the scenic Thomas House patio, and meeting space on the first floor.

Our new community room overlooking the patio could be a great place for your next meeting!

The second and third floors of the building are home to some the Simplicity CU Administrative team, giving them the room they need to succeed and continue to grow.

Our very calm and centered Accounting team are at home in the former yoga studio on the third floor.

Most of the moving boxes are emptied, we’ve found a space for all of our coolest stuff, and we’re ready to start our chapter in the story of the Thomas House.
